COURSE INFORMATION

Prerequisites: If you are new to the industry or do not hold other current NHSS 12ABCD Temporary Traffic Management skills registration cards/certificates (excluding 12D M7) you will need to undertake the Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course (TTMBC). You will be required to gain 3 months ‘on the job’ experience prior to attending the 12A/B General Operative course

On completion of this course you will:

• be aware of the process to become a 12A/B Traffic Management Operative

• be aware of current reference documentation

• be aware of health and safety requirements and their obligations

• be aware of the specification of equipment required for 12AB lane closures

• be aware of safe working practices in temporary traffic management

This course will cover:

• Health and safety at work

• The working environment

• Chapter 8 and general TTM principles

• National Highways Sector Scheme 12AB document

• Training and assessment requirements

• Traffic management operations and equipment

• Demonstration videos and activity exercises

• End of course multiple-choice test (pass mark 75% or above)
