Prerequisites: The learner must have achieved full NHSS12D M2 RTMO status before undertaking the M6 training course. Learners completing refresher tests require a current unexpired 12D M6 RLTMO skill as a minimum

Who should attend? NHSS12D M6 is for all Registered Traffic Management Operatives (RTMO) as described in the National Highway Sector Scheme (NHSS) 12D Document who wish to become a Registered Lead Traffic Management Operative (RLTMO).

On completion, learners will be deemed competent to oversee NHSS12D M1/M2 work situations and other works situations where they have achieved competency (i.e. M3 to M5).


What will be covered? On completion of this course learners should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of:


• The Temporary Traffic Management assessment process

• How to assess and determine the traffic management layout required for a given works location

• How to plan the requirements for a range of traffic management layouts, calculate the equipment requirements and assess the standard of equipment that is acceptable to use

• The need to monitor the changing conditions of the site and carry out the appropriate remedial actions

• Their own limitations and decide when management intervention is required

• How to provide practical support to RTMOs, as and when required


On completion, learners will be deemed competent to oversee NHSS12D M1/M2 work situations and other works situations where they have achieved competency (i.e. M3 to M5)
